| 51:31 | (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah) ? | (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" | قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
| 51:32 | They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, | They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- | قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ مُجْرِمِينَ |
| 51:33 | That we may send upon them stones of clay, | "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), | لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِنْ طِينٍ |
| 51:34 | Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. | "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." | مُسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ |
| 51:35 | Then we brought forth such believers as were there. | Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, | فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِيهَا مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| 51:36 | But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). | But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: | فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ |
| 51:37 | And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. | And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. | وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا ءايَةً لِلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ |
