Chapter 29: The Spider (Al-`Ankaboot)

29:28	And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Lo! ye commit lewdness such as no creature did before you.	And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you.	وَلُوطًا اِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اِنَّكُمْ لَتَاْتُونَ الْفَحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ اَحَدٍ مِنْ الْعَلَمِينَ
29:29	For come ye not in unto males, and cut ye not the road (for travellers), and commit ye not abomination in your meetings ? But the answer of his folk was only that they said: Bring Allah's doom upon us if thou art a truthteller!	"Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of God if thou tellest the truth."	اَئنَّكُمْ لَتَاْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ السَّبِيلَ وَتَاْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمْ الْمُنكَرَ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ اِلَّا اَنْ قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللَّهِ اِنْ كُنتَ مِنْ الصَّدِقِينَ
29:30	He said: My Lord! Give me victory over folk who work corruption.	He said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!"	قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ

29:31	And when Our messengers brought Abraham the good news, they said: Lo! we are about to destroy the people of that township, for its people are wrong-doers.	When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime."	وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا اِبْرَهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَى قَالُوا اِنَّا مُهْلِكُوا اَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ اِنَّ اَهْلَهَا كَانُوا ظَلِمِينَ
29:32	He said: Lo! Lot is there. They said: We are best aware of who is there. We are to deliver him and his household, all save his wife, who is of those who stay behind.	He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"	قَالَ اِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا قَالُوا نَحْنُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ فِيهَا لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُ وَاَهْلَهُ اِلَّا امْرَاَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنْ الْغَبِرِينَ
29:33	And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was troubled upon their account, for he could not protect them; but they said: Fear not, nor grieve! Lo! we are to deliver thee and thy household, (all) save thy wife, who is of those who stay behind.	And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind.	وَلَمَّا اَنْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ اِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَاَهْلَكَ اِلَّا امْرَاَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنْ الْغَبِرِينَ
29:34	Lo! We are about to bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-livers.	"For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious."	اِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَى اَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِنْ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
29:35	And verily of that We have left a clear sign for people who have sense.	And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand.	وَلَقَد تَرَكْنَا مِنْهَا ءايَةً بَيِّنَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
